Lappin's goal with 40 seconds left leads Devils to 3-2 win over Marlies

ALBANY, N.Y. - Nick Lappin scored with 40 seconds left in regulation as the Albany Devils beat the Toronto Marlies 3-2 on Sunday in American Hockey League action.

Raman Hrabarenka scored two power-play goals for Albany (37-15-8), coming just over two minutes apart in the second period.

Brendan Leipsic and Eric Faille scored for the Marlies, who still lead the league with a 44-15-5 record but have struggled since star forward William Nylander and others were called up to the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs.

Scot Wedgewood made 17 saves for Albany.

Alex Stalock stopped 21 shots for Toronto.
