Subban to miss next Montreal Canadiens' home game after non-serious neck injury

MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens say P.K. Subban suffered a non-serious neck injury in Thursday night's game against the Buffalo Sabres and has been released from hospital.

The Canadiens defenceman had to be stretchered off the ice near the end of the third period after falling and being struck by teammate Alexei Emelin, who accidentally ran into him, knocking him on the side of the head.

Subban grabbed the back of his head and lay on the ice as trainers tended to him, but looked to be alert when he was carted off.

The team announced on its Twitter account today that Subban was released from Montreal General Hospital late last night.

They described it as a "non-serious neck injury."
