OHL Roundup: Erie Otters edge Kitchener Rangers 4-3 in shootout

KITCHENER, Ont. - Dylan Strome, Vanya Lodnia and Taylor Raddysh all scored in the shootout as the Erie Otters edged the Kitchener Rangers 4-3 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Raddysh also scored in regulation time for the Otters (48-12-1), while Patrick Fellows and Alex DeBrincat also found the back of the net. Devin Williams made 34 saves and turned away 3-of-5 skaters in the shootout for the win.

Adam Mascherin scored twice for the Rangers (40-13-7) and Jeremy Bracco forced overtime with his goal at the 11:26 mark of the third period. Luke Opilka stopped 32 shots and turned away 2-of-5 skaters in the shootout.

Erie was 1 for 2 on the power play and Kitchener did not score on its two man advantages.

COLTS 6 ICEDOGS 3

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Julius Nattinen and Kevin Labanc had two goals apiece to power Barrie past the IceDogs.

Zachary Magwood and Justin Scott also scored for the Colts (38-20-2).

Jordan Maletta, Ben Jones and Anthony DiFruscia supplied the offence for Niagara (29-25-6).

ATTACK 5 WOLVES 3

SUDBURY, Ont. — Sean Durzi struck twice as Owen Sound outpaced the Wolves.

Liam Dunda, Markus Phillips and Josh Sterk all scored as the Attack (30-21-10) pulled away for the win.

Cole Mayo and Brandon Bastasin staked Sudbury (16-40-5) to a 2-0 lead. Dmitry Sokolov also scored.

FRONTENACS 5 SPIRIT 3

SAGINAW, Mich. — Jared Steege and Lawson Crouse each had a pair of goals as Kingston reeled off five unanswered goals against the Spirit.

Ryan Cranford also scored in the Frontenacs' (41-15-4) rally. Kingston has won six straight.

Kris Bennett, Tye Felhaber and Artem Artemov all scored within the first 10 minutes of play for Saginaw (23-32-7).

SARNIA, Ont. — Sam Studnicka's power-play goal was the eventual winner as the Sting held off Windsor.

Nikita Korostelev opened scoring for Sarnia (37-18-7).

Christian Fischer was the lone scorer for the Spitfires (36-19-6).

67's 6 STORM 2

GUELPH, Ont. — Adam Craievich had a pair of goals as Ottawa dispatched the Storm.

Nathan Todd scored the winner on the power play in the second period for the 67's (31-29-3), while Dante Salituro, Artur Tyanulin and Jeremiah Addison chipped in as well.

Nicolas Sicoly and Brock Philips scored in Guelph's (12-42-6) sixth consecutive loss.

KNIGHTS 6 GREYHOUNDS 4

LONDON, Ont. — Captain Christian Dvorak scored twice and added two assists to lead the Knights past Sault Ste. Marie.

Aaron Berisha had a pair of goals as well for London (45-13-3), while Olli Juolevi and Daniel Bernhardt also scored.

Blake Speers, Makar Tokarev, Zachary Senyshyn and Jack Kopacka did the scoring for the Greyhounds (29-24-8).

GENERALS 4 STEELHEADS 2

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Kenny Huether had a goal and set up two others to lift Oshawa over the Steelheads.

Jalen Smereck and Mitchell Vande Sompel also scored for the Generals (24-30-8). Joe Manchurek put the puck into an empty net for some insurance.

Everett Clark and Nicolas Hague gave Mississauga (30-28-4) an early 2-0 lead.
