QMJHL Roundup: Tristen Elie leads Olympiques to 8-2 rout of Sagueneens

CHICOUTIMI, Que. - Tristen Elie had a pair of goals in the first period and added three assists to lead the Gatineau Olympiques to an 8-2 rout of Chicoutimi Sagueneens on Thursday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Vincent Milot-Ouellet had a pair of power-play goals for the Olympiques (43-17-3). Alexandre Carrier scored and picked up four assists, while Samuel Tremblay, Vitalii Abramov and Yakov Trenin rounded out the attack. Mark Grametbauer made 12 saves for the win.

Frederic Allard and Nicolas Roy replied for Chicoutimi (28-24-9). Goaltender Julio Billia started for the Sagueneens, stopping 2-of-5 shots before Carrier's goal chased him from net just 7:28 into the game. Xavier Potvin stopped 24-of-29 shots in relief.

Gatineau was 4 for 6 on the power play and Chicoutimi went 1 for 3.

SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Sam Povorozniouk's power-play goal near the midway point of the second period was the eventual winner as the Sea Dogs upended the Voltigeurs.

Daniel Del Paggio, Luke Green and Joe Veleno also scored for Saint John (40-16-4), which has won four straight.

Michael Carcone opened scoring for Drummondville (26-34-2).

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Anthony Beauvillier's power-play goal with 38 seconds remaining lifted Shawinigan over the Tigres.

It was Beauvillier's second goal of the night for the Cataractes (40-17-4), who also got goals from Dennis Yan, Samuel Girard, Alex Pawelczyk and Justin Bernier.

Pascal Laberge had back-to-back goals for Victoriaville (30-24-7) in the first period. James Phelan, Felix Lauzon and Mario Huber chipped in as well.
