OHL Roundup: Logan Brown scores hat trick as Spitfires get past Greyhounds

SAULT STE MARIE, Ont. - Logan Brown scored a hat trick to lead the Windsor Spitfires to their fifth straight win by topping the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 4-3 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Christian Fischer also found the back of the net in a three-goal first period for Windsor (36-18-6).

Boris Katchouk and Zachary Senyshyn had power-play goals for the Greyhounds (28-23-8), with Blake Speers scoring early in the second period.

Mario Culina made 24 saves for the win in net as Brandon Halverson kicked out 38-of-42 shots in defeat.

The Spitfires scored once on three power plays, with Sault Ste. Marie converting twice on three chances with the man advantage.

Medric Mercier of the Greyhounds was assessed a match penalty for slew footing in the second period.

FRONTENACS 5 WOLVES 1

KINGSTON, Ont. — Juho Lammikko scored twice as the Frontenacs downed Sudbury.

Michael Dal Colle had a goal and two assists for Kingston (39-15-4). Spencer Watson and Jared Steege rounded out the attack while Lucas Peressini turned away 26 shots.

Mikkel Aagaard had the lone goal for the Wolves (16-39-5), who got 52 saves from Troy Timpano.

SPIRIT 2 BULLDOGS 1 (OT)

HAMILTON — Tye Felhaber scored 12 seconds into overtime as Saginaw slipped past the Bulldogs.

Kris Bennett also chipped in for the Spirit (23-31-6), who got 31 saves from Evan Cormier.

Trent Fox found the back of the net 17 seconds into the first period for Hamilton (22-31-8). Connor Hicks turned aside 30 shots in defeat.

OTTERS 2 ICEDOGS 1

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Travis Dermott had the winner in the third period as Erie extended its win streak to four games with a victory over the IceDogs.

Dylan Strome scored a highlight-reel goal on the power play to open the scoring in the second for the Otters (47-11-1). Devin Williams turned aside 17 shots for the win in net.

Tyler Boston tied the game at 1-1 earlier in the third for Niagara (29-23-6), which got 37 saves from Alex Nedeljkovic.

GENERALS 5 PETES 2

OSHAWA, Ont. — Eric Henderson struck twice and Jeremy Brodeur made 29 saves as the Generals got past Peterborough.

Alexandre Renaud, Anthony Cirelli and Jack Studnicka rounded out the attack for Oshawa (23-30-8).

Jonathan Ang and Hunter Garlent had goals for the Petes (28-26-6), who dropped their fourth straight. Scott Smith stopped 25 shots in a losing cause.

STING 5 STORM 2

SARNIA, Ont. — Patrick White had a pair of goals and Justin Fazio made 30 stops as the Sting won their fourth straight by downing Guelph.

Anthony Salinitri, Matt Mistele and Nikita Korostelev also scored for Sarnia (36-17-7).

Jake Bricknell and James McEwan supplied the offence for the Storm (13-40-6), who fell for the fifth straight game. Bradley Van Schubert kicked out 49-of-53 shots in defeat.
