ROCKFORD, Ill. - Patrice Cormier had a hat trick and Connor Hellebuyck turned aside 30 shots as the Manitoba Moose downed the Rockford IceHogs 5-2 in American Hockey League action on Wednesday afternoon.
Cormier found the back of the net 54 seconds into the second period on a power play, then struck again less than two minutes later to give Manitoba (14-27-9) a 3-1 lead. He completed the hat trick with a short-handed goal 11:22 into the third period.
John Albert and JC Lipon provided the rest of the Moose offence with a goal and an assist apiece.
