Brett Findlay powers Marlies to 2-1 win over IceCaps with pair of goals

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Brett Findlay scored twice to lead the Toronto Marlies past the St. John's IceCaps 2-1 on Sunday in American Hockey League action.

Findlay scored in the second and third period as Toronto (38-9-4) held on despite a late push by the IceCaps.

Bud Holloway replied for St. John's (22-19-10) on the power play at the 16:33 mark of the third period.

Garret Sparks made 28 saves for the win, while Eddie Pasquale stopped 44 shots for the IceCaps.

The Marlies were 0 for 6 on the power play, while St. John's was 1 for 4 with the man advantage.
