Bruins prospect Subban in stable condition after fracturing larynx

BOSTON - Boston Bruins goaltending prospect Malcolm Subban is in stable condition after fracturing his larynx during an American Hockey League game on Saturday.

The Bruins said in a statement on their website Sunday that Subban was transported to Maine Medical Center and stayed there overnight after being struck in the throat with a puck during warmups before Providence's game against the Portland Pirates.

"He is in stable condition and will be sidelined indefinitely," the Bruins said. "The team will provide additional details when they become available."

Subban, the younger brother of Montreal Canadiens star P.K. Subban, tweeted a photo of himself from the hospital Sunday night with the caption: "Thanks for all the support!"

The 22-year-old Subban is 14-8-5 with the Bruins' AHL team this season. He has a 2.44 goals-against average and .911 save percentage.
