John Scott's improbable all-star run ends with birth of twin girls

MONTREAL - John Scott already has a memory to rival his improbable appearance at the NHL all-star game.

Less than a week after the fan-favourite enforcer led the Pacific Division to victory at the NHL all-star game, Scott and his wife Danielle welcomed twin girls.

The Montreal Canadiens tweeted a picture of Estelle Vera and Sofia Leland, the third and fourth daughters of the Scott family.

Sofia is the bigger of the two, weighing in at six pounds seven ounces. Estelle entered the world at five pounds 10 ounces.

Scott made headlines last week when he was voted as MVP of the 3-on-3 all-star tournament, scoring two goals in the Pacific Division's victory.

He was later named the NHL's first star of the week despite toiling for the St. John's IceCaps, Montreal's AHL affiliate.

Danielle, pregnant at the time, and his two daughters were in Nashville to see the all-star game in person.

Scott was voted to the all-star game despite being a low-scoring enforcer who rarely suited up for games.

He was traded from Arizona to Montreal after being voted in and instantly demoted to St. John's, but the league allowed him to play in the all-star game amid appeals from players and fans.
