OHL Roundup: DiFruscia leads IceDogs to 3-2 victory over Knights

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Anthony DiFruscia scored the go-ahead goal 14:53 into the third period to lift the Niagara IceDogs to a 3-2 victory over the London Knights on Thursday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Johnny Corneil had a goal and an assist for Niagara (25-17-6), which clawed back from a 2-0 deficit. Vince Dunn had the tying goal midway through the second period.

JJ Piccinich and Christian Dvorak gave the Knights (34-11-3) an early lead with power-play goals less than two minutes apart in the first period.

Alex Nedeljkovic made 16 saves for the win. Tyler Parsons stopped 31 shots in the losing effort.

GREYHOUNDS 5 BATTALION 2

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Boris Katchouk scored twice as Sault Ste. Marie topped the Battalion.

Bobby MacIntyre, Zachary Senyshyn, and Blake Speers also scored for the Greyhounds (22-20-6).

Mike Amadio and Daniil Vertiy replied for North Bay (25-17-6).

PETES 4 BULLDOGS 1

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — Hunter Garlent had a goal and two assists as the Petes toppled Hamilton.

Dominik Masin had a goal and an assist for Peterborough (24-20-6). Adam Timleck and Josh Coyle also found the back of the net and Kyle Jenkins chipped in with three helpers.

Trent Fox scored the lone goal for the Bulldogs (18-27-4).

SPITFIRES 6 WOLVES 1

WINDSOR, Ont. — Christian Fischer struck twice and added an assist as the Spitfires downed Sudbury.

Mikhail Sergachev had the eventual winner and two assists for Windsor (31-14-5), while Brendan Lemieux, Cole Carter and Luke Boka rounded out the attack.

Danny Desrochers replied for the Wolves (12-33-4).

COLTS 4 GENERALS 1

BARRIE, Ont. — Giordano Finoro's goal late in the second period was the eventual winner and Dylan Sadowy added a short-handed goal as the Colts defeated Oshawa.

Andrew Mangiapane and Cordell James chipped in for Barrie (30-16-2).

Joe Manchurek responded for the Generals (18-25-7).
