Hurricanes activate goalie Ward from injured reserve
The Carolina Hurricanes have activated goaltender Cam Ward from injured reserve. Forward Phil Di Giuseppe and goaltender Daniel Altshuller have been reassigned to the Charlotte of the AHL.

RALEIGH, NCRon Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated goaltender Cam Ward from injured reserve. The Hurricanes also reassigned forward Phil Di Giuseppe and goaltender Daniel Altshuller to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL) ahead of the NHL's All-Star Break.

Di Giuseppe, 22, made his NHL debut on Dec. 5 in the Hurricanes' game against Montreal, and has notched three goals and earned five assists (8 points) in 18 NHL games this season. The Maple, Ont., native has also totaled seven goals and nine assists (16 points) in 22 AHL games this season. The Hurricanes drafted Di Giuseppe (6'0”, 200 lbs.) in the second round, 38th overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft.
