QMJHL Roundup: D'Aoust, Timashov score in SO as Cataractes top Sagueneens

CHICOUTIMI, Que. - Alexis D'Aoust and Dmytro Timashov scored in the shootout to lift the Shawinigan Cataractes to their third straight victory, 3-2 over the Chicoutimi Sagueneens on Sunday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

D'Aoust and Danny Moynihan scored in regulation for the Cataractes (31-12-3) with Moynihan tying the game 2-2 early in the third period.

Nicolas Roy had both regulation-time goals for Chicoutimi (20-19-7).

Mikhail Denisov stopped 29 shots for the win. Julio Billia made 31 saves in the losing effort.

Both teams failed to score on the power play. Shawinigan was 0 for 1 while the Sagueneens went 0 for 4.

ISLANDERS 3 TITAN 1

CHARLOTTETOWN — Alexis Vanier had the go-ahead goal 17:26 into the third period as the Islanders topped Acadie-Bathurst.

Kameron Kielly had a power-play goal and an assist for Charlottetown (19-22-7) and Jake Coughler added an empty-netter with 1:13 left in the game.

Jeffrey Truchon-Viel had the lone goal for the Titan (18-24-5).
