UFC fighters work out with New Jersey Devils
Former professional wrestilng CM Punk and other UFC fighters worked out Wednesday with the New Jersey Devils

A group of mixed-martial arts fighters representing the Ultimate Fighting Championship, headlined by former professional wrestler CM Punk, worked out with the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday at the Prudential Center as part of the UFC's cross-training program.

Punk, Corey Anderson, Chris Wade, Jessica Eye and the retired Forrest Griffin, along with UFC manager of athlete development Chris Provino, received their own lockers and personalized Devils jerseys before watching practice. Punk later took a faceoff against Devils defenseman Damon Severson, with Griffin dropping the puck.

Born Phil Brooks, Punk retired from wrestling and signed with the UFC in December 2014. A big fan of the Chicago Blackhawks, Punk could make his UFC debut this summer.

Griffin is a former UFC light-heavyweight champion who was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame on July 6, 2013 shortly after retiring from MMA competition with a record of 19-7.

Eye, who treated Devils mascot "N.J. Devil" to a few leg kicks, competes in the UFC women's bantamweight division. She is 11-4 with one no-decision.

Anderson (7-1) is a light-heavyweight and the Season 19 winner of the UFC reality show, "The Ultimate Fighter." His next fight is scheduled for March 5 at UFC 197 against Tom Lawlor.

Wade, fighting out of Islip, N.Y., is a UFC lightweight with a professional record of 11-1.

Prudential Center, the home of the Devils, will host UFC on Fox 18 on Jan. 30, a card headlined by a light-heavyweight fight between top contenders Anthony Johnson and Ryan Bader.
