The St. Louis Blues make their only trip to Joe Louis Arena this season when they visit the Detroit Red Wings in this week’s Wednesday Night Rivalry game (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, SN, TVA Sports).
Expect a close game; each of the past three between the teams has gone to overtime, with the Red Wings winning all three.
Each team is toward the All-Star break with injury problems. The Blues are still without starting goaltender Jake Allen, and won't have defensemen Carl Gunnarsson and Robert Bortuzzo, as well as forward Magnus Paajarvi. Despite the personnel problems, St. Louis is 4-1-0 in its past five games.
The Red Wings will be without defenseman Niklas Kronwall, who had arthroscopic knee surgery Tuesday and is expected to miss 2-4 weeks.
