Predators rookie Kevin Fiala scores first NHL goal
Nashville Predators rookie forward Kevin Fiala scored the first goal of his NHL career Thursday against the Winnipeg Jets at MTS Centre.

Nashville Predators rookie forward Kevin Fiala scored his first NHL goal 59 seconds into the second regular-season game of his career Thursday against the Winnipeg Jets at MTS Centre.

Fiala, 19, started at left wing on Nashville's top line with recently acquired center Ryan Johansen and right wing James Neal. During his first shift of the game, Fiala scored off a rebound in front of the net after Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck made a save on Johansen's shot.

The Predators selected Fiala with the No. 11 pick in the 2014 NHL Draft. He played in two games for Nashville last season, a 3-2 win against the Montreal Canadiens on March 24 and a 3-2 triple-overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 4 of the Western Conference First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs on April 21.

Winnipeg won 5-4 in overtime.
