Sedin scored at 5:41 of the second period and on the power play at 2:21 of overtime to tie the mark established by Markus Naslund, who played for Vancouver from 1996-2008.

Naslund was Canucks captain when Daniel and twin brother Henrik Sedin made their NHL debuts on Oct. 5, 2000.

"He was an idol growing up," Daniel said. "He meant so much to us coming into this league. He's a better goal-scorer than me, no question about that. It's more about how many games I played. He will always be the No. 1 in the goal department."

Daniel Sedin scored his 346 goals in 1,103 games, all with the Canucks, who made him the No. 2 pick in the 1999 NHL Draft.

Naslund scored his in 884 games for Vancouver, which acquired him in a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 20, 1996.

Daniel, a left wing, has 19 goals in 43 games this season; he had 20 in 82 games last season.

He admitted it felt good to finally beat Henrik to one of Naslund's Canucks records.

"Exactly," Daniel said. "You should mention that too."

Henrik Sedin leads the Canucks with 949 points; Daniel is second with 921. Daniel holds the record for power-play goals (120) and game-winning goals (76).

Naslund had 10 hat tricks; Daniel has six.
