Maple Leafs' van Riemsdyk out with broken foot
Toronto Maple Leaf forward James van Riemsdyk will be out 6-8 weeks because of a non-displaced fracture in his left foot.

Forward James van Riemsdyk is expected to miss 6-8 weeks because of a non-displaced fracture in his left foot, the Toronto Maple Leafs announced Monday.

Van Riemsdyk leads the Maple Leafs with 29 points. He didn't have a point in his previous two games but before that had at least one in seven straight.

The Maple Leafs recalled forward Josh Leivo from Toronto of the American Hockey League to replace van Riemsdyk. Leivo, 22, has two goals in 16 NHL games the past two seasons with the Maple Leafs. He has 11 goals and 19 assists in 35 AHL games this season and was named an AHL All-Star last week.
