The St. Louis Blues lost goaltender Jake Allen, center Paul Stastny and defenseman Jay Bouwmeester with injuries against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.
Allen left the game at 7:03 of the second period, about three minutes after his left knee was hit during a collision in the crease with Anaheim forward Corey Perry. Allen was replaced by Brian Elliott, who finished with 25 saves in a 4-3 shootout loss.
Stastny and Bouwmeester each sustained an upper-body injury in the first period, and neither returned.
Stastny played 3:52 in six shifts before leaving with 6:04 left in the first, shortly after the puck hit him in the head off a deflection of a shot by teammate Alexander Steen. Bouwmeester had nine shifts and played 5:15 before leaving with 5:28 remaining in the period after being driven into the boards by Anaheim center Ryan Getzlaf.
Coach Ken Hitchcock did not know if any of the three would be able to play Saturday, when the Blues visit the Los Angeles Kings. "Way too soon for that," he said.
