Blue Jackets captain Foligno leaves game with injury
Columbus Blue Jackets forward Nick Foligno left the game against the Carolina Hurricanes Friday with an apparent upper-body injury.

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Nick Foligno left the game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday with an apparent upper-body injury and his status for Saturday is unknown.

Foligno was hit in the chin by Hurricanes center Brad Malone when he was skating into the offensive zone 5:09 into the third period. Foligno went to the dressing room after he was able to leave the ice without assistance.

"I know [the trainers] are looking at him now," Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella told FOX Sports Ohio after the game. "We will have our doctors look at him when we get back and I will have an update [Saturday]."

The Blue Jackets lost 4-1 and host the Hurricanes on Saturday. Foligno had an assist in the second period on a goal by Brandon Dubinsky.

Foligno, the Blue Jackets captain, has six goals and 25 points in 39 games this season.
