Islanders goalie Halak activated off injured reserve
New York Islanders goaltender Jaroslav Halak, who hasn't played since Dec. 21 because of an upper-body injury, participated in a full team practice Tuesday.

New York Islanders goaltender Jaroslav Halak, who hasn't played since Dec. 21 because of an upper-body injury, was activated off injured reserve and participated in a full team practice Tuesday.

Halak is 10-6-3 with a 2.09 goals-against average and .923 save percentage in 20 games.

Thomas Greiss has started the past five games in Halak's absence. Greiss is 12-6-2 with a 2.33 GAA and .928 save percentage in 20 games.

The Islanders assigned goalie Christopher Gibson to Bridgeport of the American Hockey League. They host the Washington Capitals on Thursday at Barclays Center.
