Islanders defenseman Boychuk to miss 4-6 weeks
New York Islanders defenseman Johnny Boychuk is expected to miss 4-6 weeks because of an upper-body injury

Defenseman Johnny Boychuk will miss 4-6 weeks because of an upper-body injury, the New York Islanders announced Monday.

Boychuk sustained his injury Dec. 31 against the Buffalo Sabres when he hit the boards shoulder-first late in the third period. He was placed on injured reserve the next day.

In 38 games this season Boychuk has three goals and 11 assists, and averages 21:32 of ice time per game.
