OHL Roundup: Dal Colle's two goals lead Frontenacs in win over Petes

KINGSTON, Ont. - Michael Dal Colle scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period, then added an insurance marker eight minutes later as the Kingston Frontenacs toppled the Peterborough Petes 5-3 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Spencer Watson and Warren Foegele had a goal and two assists apiece for Kingston (23-11-3), Ryan Verbeek rounded out the attack and Dal Colle tacked on an assist for a three-point night.

Steven Lorentz had a goal and a helper for the Petes (17-16-5). Greg Betzold and Hunter Garlent also scored.

Lucas Peressini stopped 34 shots for the win. Matthew Mancina made 37 saves in the losing effort.

The Frontenacs were 1 for 6 on the power play while Peterborough failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.

STEELHEADS 3 ATTACK 1

OWEN SOUND, Ont. — Daniel Muzito-Bagenda scored the eventual winner in the second period as Mississauga got past the Attack.

Jason Smith and Nicolas Hague also found the back in the second for the Steelheads (19-16-4).

Kevin Hancock had the lone goal in the second period for Owen Sound (16-14-6).

GENERALS 3 WOLVES 2 (SO)

OSHAWA, Ont. — Jalen Smereck scored the only goal of the shootout as the Generals edged Sudbury.

Riley Stillman and Alexandre Renaud supplied the offence in regulation for Oshawa (14-18-5).

Alan Lyszczarczyk scored on a penalty shot and added an assist on Ryan Valentini's first-period goal for the Wolves (8-26-4).

RANGERS 3 STORM 2

KITCHENER, Ont. — Adam Mascherin had two assists, then scored the tiebreaking goal on a power play midway through the third period to lead the Rangers over Guelph.

David Miller and Jeremy Bracco also scored for Kitchener (26-5-4), which has won three straight.

Matthew Hotchkiss scored both goals for the Storm (4-28-3).
