TORONTO - Matt Frattin scored the go-ahead goal 13:19 into the second period and the Toronto Marlies held on for a 3-2 victory over the Lake Erie Monsters on Thursday in American Hockey League action.
Josh Leivo and T.J. Brennan, on a power play, also scored for the Marlies (26-7-2).
Trent Vogelhuber had a short-handed goal for Lake Erie (17-10-4) that tied the game 2-2 at 19:47 of the first period. Michael Paliotta had the other Monsters' goal.
Toronto goaltender Rob Madore made 24 saves. Anton Forsberg stopped 27 shots in the losing effort.
The Marlies were 1 for 6 on the power play while Lake Erie failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.
