HELSINKI - Alexander Nylander scored and Linus Soderstrom made 46 saves as Sweden blanked the United States 1-0 on Monday at the world junior hockey championship.
Nylander was sent in on a breakaway early in the second period and beat Alex Nedeljkovic for the game's lone goal at Helsinki Ice Hall.
The Americans outshot Sweden 46-23.
Sweden (2-0) leads Group A with six points while the U.S. fell to 1-1 with the loss.
