OHL Roundup: Petrus Palmu nets two in regulation, one in SO as Attack edge Petes

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Petrus Palmu scored twice in regulation and once in the shootout as the Owen Sound Attack edged the Peterborough Petes 5-4 on Thursday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Jaden Lindo beat Matthew Mancina for the shootout winner. Kevin Hancock and Bryson Cianfrone also found the back of the net for the Attack (14-13-6).

Eric Cornel, Greg Betzold, Jonathan Ang and Hunter Garlent supplied the offence for Peterborough (16-13-5).

Michael McNiven turned aside 24 shots through regulation and extra time for Owen Sound with Mancina making 47 saves for the Petes.

The Attack were 1 for 7 on the power play with Peterborough going scoreless on five chances.

Betzold was assessed a match penalty for a head check at 11:14 of the third period.

WOLVES 4 ICEDOGS 3 (SO)

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Ryan Valentini scored the shootout winner as Sudbury edged the IceDogs.

Conor Cummins and Valentini gave the Wolves (7-23-3) a 2-0 lead with Macauley Carson adding the other.

Josh Ho-Sang and Pavel Jenys found the back of the net for Niagara (16-12-3). Jordan Maletta tied the game with a power-play goal in the second.

BATTALION 2 STEELHEADS 1 (OT)

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Mike Amadio scored the winner 2:56 into overtime as the Battalion slipped past Mississauga.

Zach Poirier opened the scoring with a power-play goal in the first for North Bay (15-12-3).

Damian Bourne evened the game at 1-1 with a goal in the third for the Steelheads (18-13-3), who had a three-game winning streak snapped.

SPITFIRES 7 SPIRIT 6 (OT)

WINDSOR, Ont. — Brendan Lemieux struck twice, including the overtime winner, as the Spitfires topped Saginaw.

Gabriel Vilardi, Hayden McCool, Daniel Beaudoin, Bradley Latour and Aaron Luchuk rounded out the attack for Windsor (19-9-5), which got three assists from Christian Fischer.

Artem Artemov had two goals and an assist for the Spirit (14-16-3), who had a three-game winning streak snapped. Kris Bennett, Connor Brown, Kirill Maksimov and Mike Davies also scored. Tye Felhaber tacked on three helpers.

GREYHOUNDS 2 COLTS 1 (SO)

BARRIE, Ont. — Gustav Bouramman and Blake Speers scored in the shootout as Sault Ste. Marie slipped past the Colts.

Tim Gettinger chipped in with a goal in regulation for the Greyhounds (15-14-3).

Rasmus Andersson had a power-play goal in the second for Barrie (19-11-1) while also scoring in the shootout.
