ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Jerry D'Amigo scored the go-ahead goal at 18:58 of the third period and Nathan Lieuwen made 38 saves as the Rochester Americans beat the host St. John's Ice Caps 3-1 on Friday in American Hockey League play.
Phil Varone scored on the power play in the second period for the Americans (11-11-2), who ended a three-game slide. Colby Robak added another into an empty net 34 seconds after D'Amigo's winner.
Jacob de la Rose opened the scoring for the IceCaps (12-7-6) in the first period.
