Canadiens' Price to have tests on leg injury: report
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price was examined by a doctor Saturday and is expected to have further tests Monday or Tuesday on what is believed to be a knee injury, Sportsnet reported.

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price was examined by a doctor Saturday and is expected to have further tests Monday or Tuesday on what is believed to be a knee injury, Sportsnet reported.

The Canadiens are expected to announce how long Price will be sidelined after those tests.

Sportsnet also said the Canadiens said reports that Price would be out for at least a month were erroneous.

On Wednesday, Price left a 5-1 win against the New York Rangers after two periods with the same lower-body injury that kept him out of the lineup for nine games from Oct. 30 through Nov. 19. His right leg appeared to bend awkwardly when he was trying to move across the crease during a sequence in the second period.

"The medical staff was really comfortable and Carey was really comfortable to come back," coach Michel Therrien said after the game. "If we would have had any doubt, for sure we were never going to take that risk. That's all we could say about it. He tweaked it again tonight and that's why we don't want to take any chances. It's still early in the season, so it's important for us that when he plays he's got to make sure he's healthy."

Goalie Mike Condon played in a 3-2 shootout win against the New Jersey Devils on Friday and will start again against the Devils on Saturday with Dustin Tokarski as the backup.

Price, the reigning Hart Trophy and Vezina Trophy winner, is 10-2-0 with a 2.06 goals-against average and .934 save percentage this season
