Avalanche activate Varlamov from injured reserve
The Colorado Avalanche activated goalie Semyon Varlamov from injured reserve Sunday.

The Colorado Avalanche activated goalie Semyon Varlamov from injured reserve Sunday.

Varlamov, who missed six games with a groin injury, is expected to start Monday against the Winnipeg Jets, according to the Denver Post. He is 3-6-1 with a 3.26 goals-against average and .890 save percentage.

Goalie Calvin Pickard was reassigned to San Antonio of the American Hockey League. Pickard allowed three goals in relief of Reto Berra in the Avalanche's 7-3 loss to the Washington Capitals on Saturday.
