STARS CONTINUE RECORD-SETTING START

Jason Spezza scored the eventual game-winning goal at 7:35 of the third period to help the Dallas Stars earn their third consecutive victory and continue their record-setting start to the season.

* At 15-4-0 (30 points), the Stars are off to their best 19-game start (in terms of wins and points) in the franchise's 48-year history. Their 15 wins lead the NHL and their 30 points share top spot with the New York Rangers (14-2-2, 30 points) and Montreal Canadiens (14-3-2, 30 points).

* The Stars also improved to 8-2-0 (16 points) away from American Airlines Center this season, the most road wins and road points in the League.

* Tyler Seguin (1-0—1) and Jamie Benn (0-1—1) combined for an insurance goal late in the game. Seguin (10-17—27) and Benn (12-14—26) are second and third in the League scoring race, respectively, behind Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane (13-15—28).

MALKIN LEADS PENGUINS PAST WILD

Evgeni Malkin (2-2—4) factored on all four Pittsburgh Penguins goals, and pulled off an incredible deke before scoring the game-winning goal, to guide his team to its fifth win in the past six games with the Minnesota Wild dating to Oct. 18, 2011 (MIN: 1-5-0).

* Malkin had his 20th career game with at least four points; it was his first since March 22, 2014 vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning (2-2—4 in 4-3 W). The Penguins are 20-0-0 when he has four or more points.

* Malkin leads the Penguins with 6-10—16 in 18 games this season, including four game-winning goals, tied for the League lead with Patrick Kane (Blackhawks), Nathan MacKinnon (Colorado Avalanche) and Joe Pavelski (San Jose Sharks). He had four game-winners all of last season (69 GP).

* Malkin also scored his 100th career power-play goal (all w/ Pittsburgh) to become the fourth player in franchise history to reach the mark. The others: Mario Lemieux (236 PPG), Jaromir Jagr (110 PPG) and Kevin Stevens (110 PPG). Only Alex Ovechkin (156 PPG) and Thomas Vanek (108 PPG) have more power-play goals since Malkin entered the League in 2006-07.

SHARKS BITE BRUINS FOR THIRD STRAIGHT WIN

Down 3-2 in the second period, the San Jose Sharks scored three straight goals, including power-play strikes 25 seconds apart by Patrick Marleau and Joe Thornton, to improve to 3-0-0 on their season-high six-game road trip.

* Marleau, who also scored in overtime Saturday in a 2-1 win at the Buffalo Sabres, moved within one point of becoming the first player in franchise history to reach 1,000 points (462-537—999 in 1,347 GP).

* Thornton (1-2—3) scored his 58th career game-winning goal and second in 18 games this season (also Oct. 13 at Washington). He had three game-winners in his previous 160 games before 2015-16.

* Joe Pavelski (1-2—3) posted his second three-point effort of the season (also Oct. 7 at the Los Angeles Kings: 1-2—3). He leads the Sharks with 10-8—18 in 18 games.

REIMER, SPECIAL TEAMS CARRY MAPLE LEAFS

James Reimer made 34 saves and the Toronto Maple Leafs scored all five goals via special teams en route to their fourth win in five games after a 2-8-4 start to the season.

* Reimer, the NHL's Third Star for the week ending Nov. 15, earned his fourth consecutive victory and improved to 4-0-2 in his last six games (1.61 GAA, .949 SV%). He also moved to 4-0-1 in five career appearances vs. Colorado (2.19 GAA, .926 SV%).

The Kings also moved to 12-3-0 in their last 15 games following an 0-3-0 start to the season.
