Avalanche forward Landeskog suspended two games
Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog has been suspended for two games, without pay, for an illegal check to the head of Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand.

NEW YORK – Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog has been suspended for two games, without pay, for an illegal check to the head of Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand during NHL Game No. 230 in Boston on Thursday, Nov. 12, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 5:46 of the second period. Landeskog was assessed a match penalty for illegal check to the head.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Landeskog will forfeit $59,907.84. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
