ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Christian Thomas scored 2:57 into overtime and Zachary Fucale made 36 saves as the St. John's IceCaps edged the visiting Toronto Marlies 3-2 on Friday in American Hockey League action.
Darren Dietz and Charles Hudon also scored for the IceCaps (8-5-2) while Fucale picked up an assist on Thomas' winner.
Mark Arcobello and Casey Bailey responded for the Marlies (10-3-1), who had their five-game win streak halted.
Toronto's Garret Sparks stopped 26-of-29 shots in a losing cause.
St John's went 1 for 2 on the power play while Toronto scored once on three chances with the man advantage.
