CROSBY RALLIES PENGUINS PAST CANADIENS

Sidney Crosby (0-2—2) collected the primary assist on two goals in regulation – including a set-up on the tying goal by Patric Hornqvist with 6:25 remaining – and scored in the shootout to lift the Pittsburgh Penguins to their 10th win in their past 12 games following an 0-3-0 start to the season.

* The Penguins won when trailing after two periods for the first time since January 5, 2014 at the Winnipeg Jets, halting a streak of 37 consecutive losses in that scenario. They are 10-3-2 in their past 15 games against the Montreal Canadiens dating to the start of the 2011-12 season (MTL: 5-5-5).

* Crosby has collected 17-23—40 in 30 career games against the Canadiens, including at least one point in 16 of 17 home games (12-14—26). He is 32-for-72 in the shootout - tied for 10th-most shootout goals in NHL history (w/ Joe Pavelski).

* Marc-Andre Fleury, who left the game briefly after taking a stick to the face, made 32 saves through overtime – and denied two attempts in the shootout – to earn his eighth win of the season. Each of Fleury's victories have come in his past 10 outings (1.79 GAA, .937 SV%, 2 SO).

Penguins forward Pascal Dupuis, who returned from a two-game absence, scored 13 seconds after the opening face-off for the second-fastest goal to start a game this season (Jason Zucker: Oct. 25 at WPG w/ MIN, 0:10).

* The fastest goal from the start of a game in Penguins history was scored March 25, 1976 at the St. Louis Blues, when Jean Pronovost tallied six seconds into an eventual 5-2 victory – one second shy of the NHL record for fastest goal to start a game.

* Via Elias, there have been 57 goals scored in the opening minute of any period this season – 11 in the first period, 24 in the second period, 15 in the third period and seven in overtime.

OILERS RALLY THREE TIMES FOR OT WIN

Teddy Purcell scored at 1:16 of overtime to end a seesaw affair – in which the Edmonton Oilers scored three tying goals, including two in the third period – and lift Edmonton to its first win at Honda Center since April 1, 2012, halting a six-game skid in Anaheim.

* Via Elias, the Oilers scored at least three tying goals in a game in a road victory for the first time since March 28, 2013 at CBJ. In that contest, Sam Gagner collected 1-2—3 to help the Oilers tie the game at 2-2, 3-3 and 4-4 in a 6-4 victory.

* Purcell scored his 13th career game-winning goal (first w/ EDM, 98 GP), including three overtime tallies. He notched two goals in the extra period with the Tampa Bay Lightning, on April 7, 2012 at WPG (3-0—3 and Nov. 9, 2013 at DET (1-0—1).

* Leon Draisaitl (1-2—3), the third player selected in the 2014 NHL Draft, posted his fourth multi-point effort in six games this season (4-6—10). Draisaitl had 2-7—9 in his first 37 career games.

Thirty-one of the 45 games that have required overtime this season have been decided in the extra period (68.9%). … The Ducks have earned a point in each of their past six outings (4-0-2) after a 1-7-2 start to the season. … Making his sixth consecutive start, Canadiens goaltender Mike Condon made 31 saves and is 6-0-2 in his first eight NHL games (1.73 GAA, .936 SV%). … Canadiens defenseman P.K.
