Ryan Spooner, Patrice Bergeron score to lift Bruins over Islanders 2-1

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Ryan Spooner and Patrice Bergeron scored, Tuukka Rask made 36 saves and the Boston Bruins beat the New York Islanders 2-1 on Sunday night to snap a three-game losing streak.

Spooner opened the scoring with a power-play goal on a two-man advantage 13 minutes in. He finished a pretty passing play with a shot past goaltender Jaroslav Halak from the doorstep for his third of the season. David Krejci and Bergeron provided assists.

Bergeron scored with 5:47 left in the second on a point shot that was deflected in. Officials originally said the puck went in off Brad Marchand and awarded him the goal, but it was later changed to Bergeron's score after replays showed the pick tipped off defenceman Nick Leddy.

Former Bruin Johnny Boychuk scored for the Islanders on a two-man advantage with 6:42 left in the third. The Islanders squandered two power plays earlier in the final period, drawing boos from the crowd.
