QMJHL Roundup: Boivin, Simpson have three-point games to lead Titan past Drakkar

BATHURST, N.B. - Christophe Boivin and Mark Simpson both scored twice and added an assist as the Acadie-Bathurst Titan beat the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 6-4 on Friday night in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Samuel L'Italien scored his first of the season in a four-goal third period for the Titan (7-13-2). Jeffrey Truchon-Viel added the other and Elijah Francis chipped in with three assists.

Matt Jones had a pair of goals to lead Baie-Comeau (3-14-0) offensively. Tobie Paquette-Bisson and Nicolas Meloche rounded out the attack.

Reilly Pickard turned away 28 shots for Acadie-Bathurst as Keven Bouchard made 37 saves in the loss.

The Titan converted three times on seven power plays while the Drakkar were 1 for 2.

HALIFAX — Garrett Johnston scored the first of five straight goals for Chicoutimi has they got past the Mooseheads.

Alexandre Jacob, Zachary Lavigne, Landon Schiller and Jonathan Bourcier supplied the rest of the offence for the Sagueneens (7-11-1).

Danny Moynihan had the lone goal for Halifax (7-11-2) in the first period.

VOLTIGEURS 3 SEA DOGS 2

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — Michael Carcone had an empty-net goal and two assists as the Voltigeurs hung on to beat Saint John.

Sergei Boikov and Frederic Aube also scored for Drummondville (12-9-0).

Ottawa Senators prospect Thomas Chabot, on the power play, and Nathan Noel had goals for the Sea Dogs (11-8-1).

PHOENIX 4 OCEANIC 3 (OT)

RIMOUSKI, Que. — Jeremy Roy scored the winner at 1:18 of overtime as Sherbrooke edged the Oceanic.

Kay Schweri had a pair of goals in regulation for the Phoenix (8-9-4). Carl Neill added the other.

Antoine Dufort-Plante struck twice for Rimouski (11-6-1) with Pierre-Olivier Demers also chipping in.

SHAWINIGAN, Que. — Anthony Beauvillier and Gabriel Slight both scored twice as the Cataractes routed Quebec.

James Phelan, Mathieu Olivier, Nicholas Welsh and Charles Taillon supplied the rest of the offence for Shawinigan (17-3-0).

Nikolas Brouillard and Bronson Beaton found the back of the net for the Remparts (11-8-2).
