ST. PAUL, Minn.-- Minnesota Wild forward Zach Parise left a 3-2 loss to the Nashville Predators Thursday in the first period with a lower-body injury.
Parise collided with Predators forward James Neal near the right half-wall in the Wild offensive zone 1:05 into the game. Neal's left knee made contact with Parise's right knee. Neal was not assessed a penalty for the hit.
Parise got to his feet slowly and limped down the tunnel. He returned to the bench shortly after, but with 2:23 remaining in the period limped down the runway again and did not return.
Wild coach Mike Yeo said Parise will not play Saturday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. An update on his condition will be provided Friday.
"Bottom line is, we're losing Zach and we're probably going to lose some offense," Yeo said. "Some guys are going to have to step up for sure."
Parise has seven goals and two assists in 12 games.
