QMJHL Roundup: Phelix Martineau scores twice as Screaming Eagles top Sagueneens

SYDNEY, N.S. - Phelix Martineau scored twice in a three-goal third period for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles as they topped the Chicoutimi Sagueneens 6-3 on Wednesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Pierre-Luc Dubois also struck twice for the Screaming Eagles (10-8-3) with Maxim Lazarev and Clark Bishop adding the others. Evgeny Svechnikov tacked on four assists.

Nicolas Roy had a pair of goals for Chicoutimi (7-11-1). Gabryel Paquin-Boudreau had a goal and two assists.

Alexandre Belanger turned away 18 shots for the win while Julio Billia made 24 saves in the loss.

Both teams went 2 for 3 on the power play.

SEA DOGS 3 PHOENIX 2 (OT)

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Jakub Zboril scored the winner early in overtime as Saint John held on to beat the Phoenix.

Daniel Del Paggio and Sam Povorozniouk opened the scoring for the Sea Dogs (11-7-1).

Julien Pelletier and Kevin Gilbert had goals for Sherbrooke (7-9-4).

SHAWINIGAN, Que. — Samuel Asselin had a pair of goals, including one shorthanded, as the Cataractes toppled Acadie-Bathurst.

Mathieu Olivier added a goal and two assists for Shawinigan (16-3-0), which also got goals from Dennis Yan, Gabriel Slight and Alexis D'Aoust.

Mark Simpson scored twice for the Titan (6-13-2) with Egor Popov and Christophe Voivin also chipping in.
