Bruins recall forward Max Talbot from Providence
The Boston Bruins on Wednesday recalled forward Max Talbot from Providence of the American Hockey League.

The Boston Bruins on Wednesday recalled forward Max Talbot from Providence of the American Hockey League.

Talbot, 31, had four assists in three AHL games. He is scoreless in two games with Boston this season.

"For me, I'll just be myself, work hard and bring the leadership and experience that I can bring, and a positive attitude for sure," Talbot said in comments tweeted by the Bruins.

Talbot was acquired from the Colorado Avalanche in March. He has 89 goals and 197 points in 668 regular-season games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Flyers, Avalanche and Bruins.

Talbot went to the Stanley Cup Final with the Penguins in 2008 and 2009. He scored twice in Game 7 of the 2009 Cup Final against the Detroit Red Wings as the Penguins won the third title in franchise history.

"We brought in Max Talbot because No. 1, he's a penalty killer, No. 2, he's a great veteran, great leader. He plays hard every night," coach Claude Julien said.

The Bruins lost forward Chris Kelly for 6-8 months after he fractured his left femur in the first period of a 5-3 loss to the Dallas Stars on Tuesday. They play at the Washington Capitals on Thursday.

"[Kelly] is the type of player and guy in the room that's irreplaceable," Talbot said. "He's a big part of this team, so definitely thinking about him."
