OHL Roundup: Christian Fischer has three points to lead Spitfires over Storm

WINDSOR, Ont. - Christian Fischer scored twice and added an assist as the Windsor Spitfires downed the Guelph Storm 5-1 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Logan Brown added a goal and two assists for the Spitfires (10-3-3). Andrew Burns and Aaron Luchuk rounded out the attack while Cole Carter, Bradley Latour and Cristiano DiGiacinto tacked on two assists apiece.

C.J. Garcia had a goal in the second period for Guelph (1-11-1).

Garret Hughson turned away 32 shots for the win in net. Bradley Van Schubert kicked out 4-of-6 shots in 7:20 before giving way to Justin Nichols. Nichols turned aside 30-of-33 shots in 52:40 of relief.

Windsor was scoreless on six power-play attempts while the Storm went 0 for 4.

ATTACK 2 FIREBIRDS 1

FLINT, Mich. — Jaden Lindo scored the winner 58 seconds into the second period and added an assist as Owen Sound edged the Firebirds.

Jonah Gadjovich opened the scoring with a power-play goal for the Attack (8-6-2).

Cullen Mercer answered with a goal in the third for Flint (5-8-1), which has now dropped five in a row.

BULLDOGS 6 COLTS 5

HAMILTON — Michael Cramarossa struck twice as the Bulldogs slipped past Barrie.

Benjamin Gleason had a goal and two assists for Hamilton (6-8-0), which also got goals from Mason Marchment, Niki Petti and Brandon Saigeon. Matt Luff and Trent Fox both had a pair of helpers.

Roy Radke scored a hat trick to lead the Colts (8-6-0) offensively. Rasmus Andersson and Julius Nattinen had the others.

Barrie's Chiwetin Blacksmith received a match penalty for slew footing at 5:40 of the second period.

OTTERS 4 STING 2

ERIE, Pa. — Nick Betz scored the first of four-straight goals for the Otters as they doubled up Sarnia for their third consecutive victory.

Jake Marchment, Alex DeBrincat and Taylor Egan supplied the rest of the offence for Erie (12-1-1).

Josh Jacobs and Brandon Lindberg responded late in the third period for the Sting (8-5-1).

KNIGHTS 7 SPIRIT 0

SAGINAW, Mich. — Max Jones had a hat trick and Tyler Parsons stopped all 22 shots he faced as London shut out the Spirit.

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Mitchell Marner had a goal and two assists for the Knights (10-2-2). Matthew Tkachuk, Christian Dvorak and Aiden Jamieson also scored.

Evan Cormier started in net for Saginaw (6-7-2), but was pulled after kicking out 9-of-13 shots in 26:56. David Ovsjannikov made 14 saves in relief.
