No plans for 'rash changes' to Ducks, GM says
Anaheim Ducks general manager Bob Murray said Friday there will be no "rash changes" coming despite a poor start to the season, and that he expects a positive move up the standings.

The Ducks are 1-7-2, last in the NHL.

"We were one game away from the [Stanley Cup] Final just five months ago," Murray told the Ducks website. "So while this has been a terrible start, I'm not inclined to make rash changes. I'm going to be patient. That said, we are severely underperforming as a group. I can't recall a time where a vast majority of our players have underachieved simultaneously, and I fully expect a turnaround."

The Ducks, who begin a three-game homestand Sunday against the Nashville Predators, believe they can figure things out.

"I have full confidence in the people inside this room and the guys behind the bench," defenseman Cam Fowler said in comments tweeted by the Ducks. "The answers are in here."

Last season, the Ducks won their second straight Pacific Division title and advanced to the Western Conference Final, where they lost in seven games to the Chicago Blackhawks.

This season, scoring has been the Ducks' biggest issue; their 10 goals are the fewest in the League, and they've been shut out five times in 10 games. The Ducks are missing captain Ryan Getzlaf, who had an appendectomy Wednesday and is expected to be out 4-12 days.
