Vancouver Canucks defenseman Dan Hamhuis and forward Brandon Prust will not travel on the upcoming two-game road trip, the Canucks announced Wednesday.
Hamhuis did not play Tuesday against the Montreal Canadiens because of a lower-body injury. He will remain in Vancouver, where he will continue to be evaluated.
In eight games this season Hamhuis has two assists, eight blocked shots, 15 hits and averages 19:14 of ice time.
Prust has a left ankle injury he sustained in a collision with Canadians forward Brian Flynn during the second period Tuesday. He was scheduled for an MRI on Wednesday.
"I hit a rut and just rolled right over my ankle," Prust told the Vancouver Sun after the Canucks' 5-1 win Tuesday. "But I didn't hear anything pop. It's definitely sore but hopefully [for] not too long. I won't be skating for a few days."
With Hamhuis and Prust out, the Canucks recalled forward Brendan Gaunce and defenseman Alex Biega from Utica of the American Hockey League on Wednesday.
The Canucks play at the Dallas Stars on Thursday and the Arizona Coyotes on Friday.
