LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. - Nikita Soshnikov scored twice to lift the Toronto Marlies to a 3-1 victory over the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Sunday in American Hockey League action.
Frederick Gauthier had the other goal for the Marlies (5-2-0) while Richard Clune chipped in with two assists.
Taylor Leier scored the lone goal for the Phantoms (2-4-0), shorthanded at 12:02 of the second period.
Toronto goaltender Antoine Bibeau made 21 saves for the victory. Lehigh Valley's Anthony Stolarz stopped 22 shots in the losing effort.
Neither team scored on the power play. The Marlies were 0 for 4 while the Phantoms went 0 for 3.
