Richard Clune scores once, adds assist as Marlies rout of Americans

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Richard Clune, Justin Holl and Nikita Soshnikov all had a goal and an assist as the Toronto Marlies routed the Rochester Americans 8-2 on Friday night in American Hockey League action.

Andrew Campbell, Ryan Rupert, Matt Frattin, Kasperi Kapanen and William Nylander supplied the rest of the offence for Toronto (4-1-0), the Maple Leafs affiliate.

Tim Schaller and Cal O'Reilly scored for the Americans (2-4-0), who suffered their fourth loss in a row.

Antoine Bibeau turned aside 21 shots for the win. Nathan Lieuwen started in goal for the Buffalo Sabres' farm club and kicked out 20-of-27 shots in 43:57. Andrey Makarov made six saves in 16:03 of relief.

The Marlies were scoreless on two power plays while Rochester went 0 for 3 with the man advantage.
