MONTREAL REMAINS PERFECT

The Canadiens scored four unanswered goals after they were trailing 1-0, including the eventual game-winner on a power play by Jeff Petry in the third period to extend their franchise record for most consecutive wins to start a season by improving to 6-0-0.

* Carey Price made 21 saves to improve to 5-0-0 with a 1.20 goals-against average and a .957 save percentage. Price also improved to 8-3-1 in 12 career appearances against the Red Wings (2.31 GAA, .921 SV%, 1 SO).

* Montreal improved to 7-0-0 in their last seven games vs. DET dating to March 27, 2014 (5-4 W), which includes winning four consecutive games at Bell Centre.

ISLANDERS HAND SHARKS FIRST LOSS

After overcoming three one-goal deficits, the Islanders scored three more unanswered goals to give the Sharks (4-1-0) their first loss of the season. Six different Islanders scored goals.

* Kyle Okposo (on goal, two assists) had three points including the game-winner at 4:18 of the third period. He has two goals and six points in his current three-game point streak.

* The Islanders also had multiple point games from Josh Bailey (1G, 1A), Frans Nielsen (1G, 1A), John Tavares (2A) and Ryan Strome (2A). Nielsen scored his 100th career goal and his 200th career assist to reach the 300-point milestone, while Tavares has three straight multi-point games (2G, 5A).

* Jaroslav Halak made 22 saves in his season debut.

SEGUIN, BENN SPEARHEAD STARS RALLY OVER PANTHERS

Facing a 2-0 deficit early in the second period, the Stars scored four unanswered goals – two by Tyler Seguin (2-2—4) and two by Jamie Benn (2-1—3) – to rally over the Panthers. Dallas improved to 4-1-1 in their last six visits to Florida dating to March 1, 2007 (2-1 OT L).

* Seguin – whose goal with 3:02 left in the third period stood as the game-winner – has 3-5—8 in his current four-game point streak.

* Benn has at least one point in each of the team’s first five games of the season (5-3—8). According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Benn was the first Stars player to score a point in each of the team’s first five games of a season since Brad Richards did so through the team’s first five games from Oct. 8-18, 2010 (2-8—10).

* Seguin and Benn’s 164 combined points (72-92—164) in 2014-15 were more than any other pair of teammates in the NHL.

MCDAVID LEADS OILERS TO FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON

Rookie Connor McDavid (2-1—3) had the first three-point game of his career to help the Oilers (1-4-0) to their first victory.

* It was McDavid’s first career multi-point game and his second tally was his first career power-play goal.

* McDavid, the No. 1 overall selection in the 2015 NHL Draft, spent the past three seasons with the Erie Otters (OHL), and had 97-188—285 in 166 games. That includes 44-76—120 (all career-highs) in just 47 games in 2014-15 as well as 21-28—49 in 20 playoff appearances.

* Taylor Hall (1-2—3) also had three points, including the game-winning goal 25 seconds into the third period. Nail Yakupov (1-1—2) also added multiple points.

* Cam Talbot (1-3-0) made 22 saves to earn his first victory as a member of the Oilers .

* The Oilers snapped a seven-game winless streak versus their provincial rivals dating to March 1, 2014 (0-5-2).

AROUND THE RINKS

* With the score tied 1-1, Alex Killorn scored the eventual game-winner on a power-play at 16:03 of the third period to lead the Lightning past the Sabres. Ben Bishop made 31 saves to earn his 84th career victory as a member of the Lightning and passed Nikolai Khabibulin for the franchise’s all-time lead in wins among goaltenders. Bishop also improved to 8-0-1 in nine career games vs. Buffalo (1.63 GAA, .938 SV%, 1 SO). The Lightning improved to 6-0-0 in their last six games vs. Buffalo dating to Dec. 4, 2014 (5-0 W), which includes winning four straight games at home.

* After seeing their 3-1 lead disappear in the third period, Patrice Bergeron (2-1—3) scored two consecutive power-play goals to lead the Bruins past the Coyotes. David Krejci (1-2—3) has at least one point in each of the team’s first five games of the season (4-5—9), which includes two three-point performances. Tuukka Rask made 20 saves to improve to 6-1-0 in seven career appearances vs. the Coyotes (2.00 GAA, .925 SV%). Boston improved to 7-0-0 in their last seven games vs. the Coyotes, dating to Oct. 10, 2010 (3-0 W) which was played in Prague, Czech Republic.

* Nicklas Backstrom (1-2—3) recorded three points in his season debut – including scoring the game-winning goal early in the third period – to lead the Capitals past the Hurricanes. T.J. Oshie (1-1—2) has back-to-back multi-point performances (2-2—4), which includes two power-play goals. Washington improved to 6-1-1 in their last eight games vs. CAR dating to Dec. 20, 2013 (4-2 W).

* James Neal (2-0—2) scored two power-play goals and added the decisive marker in the shootout to lead the Predators over the Senators. Carter Hutton matched a career-high with 38 saves (also 38 SV on Oct. 20, 2013 at Winnipeg) through 65 minutes and stopped two of three shooters in the shootout to earn his first win of the season.

* Teuvo Teravainen’s first career power-play goal stood as the game-winner in Chicago’s 4-1 victory over Columbus. Corey Crawford made 22 saves to improve to 11-3-2 in 15 career appearances vs. CBJ (2.01 GAA, .933 SV%, 1 SO). Rookie Artemi Panarin (0-2—2) had two assists and has 2-5—7 in his first six career games.

* The Penguins scored two first-period goals in a span of 39 seconds (Evgeni Malkin and Olli Maatta) en route to their 2-1 victory over the Maple Leafs. Pittsburgh improved to 6-0-0 in their last six games vs. Toronto dating to Nov. 27, 2013 (6-5 SO W), which includes four straight wins at home.

MILESTONES & BENCHMARKS

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Detroit rookie Dylan Larkin (1-0—1) is the first rookie in Red Wings history to have a point in each of the team’s first five games of a season (2-4—6). Larkin, 19, was the first teenager to debut for Detroit in a season opener since Mike Sillinger in 1990-91 and the first teenager to score in his first game with the club since Steve Yzerman in 1983.

* Coyotes forward Shane Doan (1-2—3) had three points and eclipsed the 900-point milestone (369-533—902 in 1,399 GP), becoming the second player in Coyotes franchise history to record 900 points (Dale Hawerchuk - 929).

* Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin (1-0—1) has scored in each of his first three games to begin the season (3-1—4). Ovechkin (478-421—899 in 763 GP) needs one point to become the first player in Capitals history to reach the 900-point milestone.

* Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo appeared in the 868th game of his NHL career and tied Grant Fuhr for ninth on the NHL’s all-time games played list among goaltenders.

* Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury appeared in the 600th game of his NHL career. Fleury is the ninth player – and first goaltender – in franchise history to play in 600 career games. Among active goaltenders, only three have played more NHL games than Fleury – Luongo (868), Henrik Lundqvist (625) and Ryan Miller (609).

* Islanders forward Cal Clutterbuck skated in the 500th game of his NHL career.

* Sharks forward Nikolay Goldobin and Sabres forward Sam Reinhart both scored the first goals of their NHL careers (2 and 14 GP, respectively).

* Bruins defenseman Tommy Cross (0-1—1) and Penguins forward Sergei Plotnikov (0-1—1) each had the first assists/points of their NHL careers (2 and 4 GP, respectively).

* Bruins forward Tyler Randell (1-0—1) has scored in each of his first two NHL games.

* Stars forward Radek Faksa made his NHL debut (11:38 TOI).

* San Jose forward Joel Ward scored his first goal as a member of the Sharks (5 GP). Montreal forward Brian Flynn scored his first regular-season goal as a member of the Canadiens (15 GP). Dallas forward Patrick Sharp (0-2—2) had his first assists/points as a member of the Stars (5 GP). Chicago defenseman Trevor Daley (0-1—1) had his first assist/point as a member of the Blackhawks (6 GP). Edmonton defensemen Andrej Sekera (0-1—1) and Eric Gryba (0-1—1) each had their first assists/points as members of the Oilers (5 GP).

* Coyotes defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson (0-1—1) recorded the 100th assist of his NHL career.

Senators forwards Mark Stone (1-1—2) and Kyle Turris (0-2—2) both had their fourth multi-point games of the season (6 GP)... Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson (0-1—1) had his League-leading eighth assist of the season (6 GP)... Stars forward Jason Spezza (0-1—1) has 4-2—6 in his current three-game point streak...
