Flames' Bouma out indefinitely with broken fibula
Calgary Flames center Lance Bouma broke his fibula and will have surgery Wednesday, general manager Brad Treliving told Sportsnet.

Calgary Flames center Lance Bouma broke his fibula in their game Tuesday against the St. Louis Blues and is out indefinitely, the Flames announced.

General manager Brad Treliving told Sportsnet that Bouma will have surgery Wednesday. The expected timeframe for recovery is three months.

"It's a big loss for us," coach Bob Hartley said in comments tweeted by the Flames. "There's going to be extra responsibilities, extra roles for others."

Bouma was injured in the second period of a 4-3 loss to the Blues. He is scoreless in three games after setting career-highs with 16 goals and 34 points last season.
