OHL Roundup: JJ Piccinich's three points Knights past Bulldogs 8-6

HAMILTON - JJ Piccinich scored twice and added an assist as the London Knights held on for an 8-6 win over the Hamilton Bulldgos on Monday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League action.

Piccinich scored in the first period as London (4-1-2) built a 5-1 lead, assisted on Owen MacDonald's winner late in the third and then added some insurance with an empty-net goal with 22 seconds left to play.

Kole Sherwood, Robert Thomas, Aaron Berisha and Matthew Tkachuk also scored in the opening period for the Knights, while Christian Dvorak put the puck away early in the third.

Trent Fox scored three times for Hamilton (2-4-0), while Jake Bricknell, Benjamin Gleason and Michael Cramarossa had goals of their own.

Tyler Parsons made 26 saves in net for the win. Charlie Graham stopped 27-of-34 shots for the Bulldogs.

RANGERS 8 WOLVES 2

KITCHENER, Ont. — Greg Meireles had a pair of goals and added three assists as the Rangers routed Sudbury.

Connor Bunnaman also scored twice for Kitchener (3-0-3), while David Miller, Jacob Cascagnette, Adam Mascherin and Mason Kohn chipped in as well.

Dmitry Sokolov and Ben Garagan replied for the Wolves (1-6-0), who have lost five straight.

BATTALION 5 STEELHEADS 3

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Zach Bratina had a hat trick to lead the Battalion past Mississauga.

Austin Kosack and Miles Liberati also scored for North Bay (3-3-0), which has won three in a row.

Alexander Nylander, Daniel Muzito-Bagenda and Everett Clark responded for the Steelheads (3-4-1).

GENERALS 2 STORM 0

OSHAWA, Ont. — Jeremy Brodeur made 24 saves in net as the Generals shut out Guelph.

Defenceman Stephen Desrocher scored in the first period for Oshawa (4-3-1), before Kenny Huether put the puck into an empty net with 45 seconds left to play.

Justin Nichols stopped 30 shots for the Storm (1-4-1).
