WHL Roundup: Brooks, Zablocki score twice each as Pats get past Oil Kings

REGINA - Adam Brooks and Lane Zablocki both scored twice and added an assist to lead the Regina Pats over the Edmonton Oil Kings 5-3 on Sunday in Western Hockey League action.

Rykr Cole added a power-play goal for Regina (3-3-0), which scored four times in the second period. Daniel Wapple kicked out 28 shots for the win in net.

Dario Meyer and Tyler Robertson scored in the first period for the Oil Kings (3-3-1), who had a three-game winning streak snapped. Andrew Koep added another early in the second. Alec Dillon made 30 saves in goal.

The Pats scored twice on six power plays while Edmonton went 1 for 6.

BLADES 6 BRONCOS 5

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. — Connor Gay scored a power-play goal at 19:40 of the third period as Saskatoon capped off a wild third period by edging the Broncos.

Nick Zajac had one of his two goals in a four-goal third period for the Blades (3-1-3). Cameron Hebig and Cameron Hausinger also chipped in during the third with Logan Christensen adding the other.

Jon Martin struck twice for Swift Current (3-3-1) while Max Lajoie had a goal and two assists. Calvin Spencer and Scott Feser supplied the rest of the offence.

SILVERTIPS 5 RAIDERS 2

EVERETT, Wash. — Carson Stadnyk scored twice and added two assists as the Silvertips won their third straight by downing Prince Albert.

Montreal Canadiens prospect Noah Juulsen chipped in with a goal and two assist for Everett (4-1-0). Dawson Leedahl also scored in a four-goal second period for the Silvertips with Matt Fonteyne rounding out the attack.

Matteo Gennaro and Simon Stransky responded in the third for the Raiders (4-2-1).

THUNDERBIRDS 3 WINTERHAWKS 2

PORTLAND, Ore. — Alexander True scored the winner in the third period as Seattle slipped past the Winterhawks.

Jarret Tyszka had a goal and an assist while Nolan Volcan also chipped in for the Thunderbirds (3-1-1).

Keegan Iverson and Dominic Turgeon supplied the offence for Portland (1-4-0).
