NHL Network and Sportsnet 1 will televise "Rogers Hometown Hockey" on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET, prior to the game between the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators. The location this week is Kitchener, Ontario and the show will celebrate the history of hockey in the city.
Among the features airing on the pregame show:
* Ottawa Senators forward and Kitchener native Mike Hoffman and his road to the NHL. Last season the 25-year-old rookie led the Senators with 25 goals.
* The history of the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League, which has had more than 140 players graduate to the NHL, among them Hockey Hall of Fame members Paul Coffey, Al MacInnis, Larry Robinson and Scott Stevens.
* Winnipeg Jets forward Mark Scheifele, who grew up in Kitchener, attended Rangers games as a child and played in many pickup hockey games in the park nearby.
* A look at the School of Optometry and Vision Science at the University of Waterloo in Kitchener, which has helped athletes perform better and recover smarter.
