Former NHL All-Star and two-time 50-goal scorer Dany Heatley signed with the Nurnberg Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga in Germany, the Ice Tigers announced Thursday.

Heatley played six games with the Anaheim Ducks last season, spending most of the season in the American Hockey League where he had eight goals and 20 points in 43 games.

Heatley, 34, was born in Freiburg, Germany, and was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers with the second pick in the 2000 NHL Draft. He won the Calder Trophy in 2002 after scoring 26 goals and 67 points in 82 games.

Heatley scored 50 goals and 103 points with the Ottawa Senators in 2005-06. The next season, he had 50 goals and 105 points.

In 869 games with the Thrashers, Senators, San Jose Sharks, Minnesota Wild and Ducks, Heatley has 372 goals, 791 points and 620 penalty minutes. He also scored four goals and seven points in seven games to help Canada win a gold medal in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
