Forward Connor McDavid is expected to be in the lineup when the Edmonton Oilers rookies play the University of Alberta in an exhibition on Wednesday.
The game will be played at Rexall Place (9 p.m. ET), home of the Oilers. The previous 24 games in the series were played at Clare Drake Arena, the university's 2,700-seat rink.
"I know a lot about the Bears and you hear a lot more about them lately, them being one of the top programs in the country," McDavid told the Edmonton Sun. "They have a good team for a reason. It'll be very good, I've played CIS teams before and with the World Junior team, we played a CIS all-star team. It's always a good game; they're good players, it'll be good."
McDavid did not play the final two games of the Young Stars Classic after getting a goal and an assist in the tournament opener on Friday, his first game action for Edmonton.
Last year, Edmonton beat the defending Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) champions 4-2. The Golden Bears have won a national championship and a game against the Oilers in the same season six times and lead the overall series 13-11.
"I actually looked at their record," McDavid told NHL.com. "They might have a better record than the Oilers rookies. They won the national championship last year. It'll be a good game."
