Bellows, Tkachuk highlight prospect game rosters

Kieffer Bellows and Matthew Tkachuk, two of the top prospects for the 2016 NHL Draft, will lead opposing teams at the CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game.

The game, which will feature 42 of the top draft-eligible American-born players, will be Sept. 24 at First Niagara Center in Buffalo.

Bellows, who will play for USA Hockey's National Team Development Program Under-18 Team this season, will play for Team Plante, which will be coached by former NHL forward Derek Plante.

With the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League last season, Bellows was fifth in the league with 33 goals. The 6-foot, 198-pound center also had 52 points in 58 regular-season games and was named USHL Rookie of the Year.

Among those joining Bellows on Team Plante is goaltender Evan Sarthou of the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League. He had a 3.10 goals-against average and .906 save percentage in 28 games last season. He also helped the United States win the gold medal at the 2015 IIHF World Under-18 Championship in Switzerland with a 1.15 GAA and .927 save percentage.

Tkachuk will among those playing for Team Roenick, which will be coached by United States Hockey Hall of Fame member Jeremy Roenick. The 6-foot, 188-pound left wing had 38 goals and 96 points in 65 games with the NTDP U-18 team last season. He also had a tournament-high 10 assists in seven games for the U.S. at the World U-18 Championship. He'll play for the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League this season.

Also on Team Roenick is center Alexander DeBrincat. The 5-6, 150-pound forward with the Erie Otters of the OHL led league rookies with 53 goals, 51 assists and 104 points, and was named rookie of the year in the OHL and the Canadian Hockey League.

Players for the game were selected by USA Hockey in conjunction with NHL Central Scouting.
